Clinical Study on Trichomonas and Candida Vaginitis

Abstract
Clinical study on trichomonas & Candida vaginitis was done on the 400 women who visited the Chungnam Hongseung Province Hospital, Chungnam Hongseung Kun Health Center and Chungnam Cheungyeang Kun Health Center Branch during the 6 Month, from April to September 1977, obtaining the following results:
1. In the Prevalence of Trichomonas & Candida infections on each group, pregnancy group was highest prevalence.
2. In relation to the pregnancy, the prevalence of trichomonas and candida infections was 32. 8% and 41.9%, respectively. In relation to the duration of pregnancy, first trimester was highest prevalence of 52.3% in Trichomonas, but in candida, prevalence increased as the duration to the oral pill users, the prevalence of trichomonas & Candida infections was 27.4% & 38.7%, respectively.
4. In loop group, the prevalence of trichomonas & candida infections was slightly higher than that of control.
5. Mixed infections was 4.4%. In classfiying the groups, prostitutes group was highest prevalence of 7.5%.
6. The most commonly affected age group for both trichomonas and candida infections was 30^34 years.
7. The prevalence of trichomonas & candida infections was higher in the lower educa¡þtion group.
8. The prevalence of trichomonas & candida infections with leukorrhea was 28.1% and 37.3%, respectively.
9. The prevalence of trichomonas & candida infections in persons with no subjective symptom was 10.4% and 13.8%, respectively.
10. In diagnostic methods, wet smear & culture was similar results in trichomonas inf¡þections, but in candida, culture was higher than wet smear.
